Bio-composter
This structure is a waste composter and it was built at the FCUL university in Lisbon. It was built in 11 days with the support of Horta FCUL volunteers.
It is made of wood and its walls are made of an ecological concrete composed by clay and straw. This allows a natural breathing and cross ventilation of the structure, maintaining the optimal humidity levels and temperature regulation for this specific function.
At the end of the life cycle all materials can be upcycled into a new function.
Concept and design by CAS Studio and construction by CAS Studio + Will Acker.
